EYE CASTLE
Castle Street
Grade 1 listed monument. Eye Castle is a motte and bailey medieval castle with a prominent Victorian addition. Built shortly after the Norman conquest of England in 1066, the castle was sacked and largely destroyed in 1265. Great views from the top.

EYE TOWN HALL
Grade I Listed. Designed by Edward-Buckton Lamb in the Italianate style, built in red and brown brick with
rhombus-shaped sections of flint decoration.

CRINKLE-CRANKLE WALL
Lambseth Street
This famous Crinkle Crankle wall in Eye, Suffolk, dates from the late 18th Century and is part of Chandos Lodge, once the home of Sir Frederick Ashton, choreographer and founder of the Royal Ballet who lived here from 1957 until his death in 1988.

HOXNE
The main legend centres on the martyrdom of St. Edmund, King of East Anglia, said to have been captured and killed by Danes in 870 AD in the village. Hoxne is also famous for the Hoxne Hoard, the largest Roman treasure find in the UK.

The Pennings is a 2.7 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Eye in Suffolk. It is owned and managed by Mid Suffolk District Council. Fauna on the river bank include kingfishers and water voles.
